Lighthouse has been providing support for young people since 2011 thanks to funding from Comic Relief. Our ASK TWICE PROJECT provides support for young people aged 13-25 who live in Belfast.
Funded by Pilgrim Trust, LFT Charitable Trust and the NI Mental Health Fund, we provide a range of services to support those most vulnerable young people with emotional concerns. These services are delivered by a qualified youth worker and counsellor in a variety of youth settings.
Mentoring
Mentoring is like having an adult friend who cares about you and allows you to talk about what it is that is troubling you. This one to one service is offers a safe space to talk about what is causing you distress.
Group Work
We deliver 12 week group work programmes across secondary level schools in the Greater Belfast area for senior students. We also deliver programmes in other youth settings. We specifically ask the schools we work with to encourage those most in need to sign up.
Our group work programmes include a group activity or an outdoor adventure residential.
Counselling
In our experience, young people can sometimes fear counselling, or have had a negative experience, or where sent.
Counselling is available at Lighthouse for young people who live in the following postcodes:
BT14/BT15/BT36
Art Therapy
We are very fortunate at Lighthouse to offer art therapy to young people.
Family Support
If you have lost a loved one or a close friend to suicide, you can have support at Lighthouse to provide you with a safe space to talk about your loss.
Wellbeing Workshops/Awareness Talks
Our highly experienced youth team provide bespoke workshops on wellbeing, resilience and mental health. This service is delivered in schools and other youth settings across Belfast.

When this group first started I was in a very poor headspace and struggled with suicidal thoughts most days. Going to this group boosted my mood as it encouraged me to speak more openly about my mental health.
