My family have benefited from the support Lighthouse offers after the very traumatic loss of our younger sister through suicide. We have known loss & horrendous grief, we lost both our parents, our daddy suddenly through illness, but little did we understand or know about the complexities of suicide bereavement. The unanswered questions, the blame we carry, the missed opportunity to help or say goodbye, these are just a few. When we realised we weren’t feeling or ‘getting better’ we came across Lighthouse & the resources offered. Even the name Lighthouse seems to signify hope. And that’s what we needed.
